DSHS Disease (Morbidity) Data Sources
Texas law reqires that disease information for certain diseases be reported to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). See Disease Reporting - Notifiable Conditions for a detailed list. In addition, for some non-reportable diseases like influenza, DSHS gets estimates of the rates from active surveillance programs or special research studies.
