Texas COVID-19 Case Notes - June-August 2020

At the time of initial publication by DSHS, all coronavirus data are provisional and subject to change. To document changes and explain data anomalies, DSHS publishes case notes accompanying data updates, when necessary. A listing of all available notes is available on the main Data Notes page

Case Notes - June through August 2020

 DSHS began reporting probable cases on 12/11/2020. Probable cases are not included in the case numbers below.

8/31

  • Note that a backlog of 241 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (119).

8/30

  • Note that a backlog of 65 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (369). 

8/29

  • Note that a backlog of 18 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (258).
  • A backlog of 12 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Montgomery county new confirmed cases (53).

  • A backlog of 59 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (160).

  • A backlog of 117 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Montgomery county new confirmed cases (130).
  • Also, a backlog of 424 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (154).

  • A backlog of 94 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Montgomery county new confirmed cases (52).

  • A backlog of 93 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (239).

  • A backlog of 862 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (224).
  • A backlog of 43 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Nueces county new confirmed cases (40).

  • A backlog of 23 confirmed cases was included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Nueces county new confirmed cases (197).
  • A backlog of 459 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (255).
  • A backlog of 134 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Montgomery county new confirmed cases (38).

  • A backlog of 206 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (102).
  • A backlog of 164 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Montgomery county new confirmed cases (46).

  • A backlog of 44 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (355).
  • A backlog of 336 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Fort Bend county new confirmed cases (235).

8/19

  • A backlog of 550 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (237).

8/17

  • A backlog of 5,195 confirmed cases were included in the statewide total but excluded from statewide and Dallas county new confirmed cases (166).

8/11

  • Texas is reporting 8,913 new confirmed cases. The overall statewide total was updated to include 890 cases reported by the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District stemming from a laboratory reporting backlog.

8/3

  • Texas is reporting 5,839 new confirmed cases, including 471 for Bexar County. The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has removed some duplicate cases, leading to an overall decrease in the number of Bexar County cases. 

7/25

  • Texas is reporting 8,112 new confirmed cases. The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District has begun separating confirmed and probable cases, removing 2,092 probable cases from the county and statewide totals, resulting in a total number of confirmed cases of 375,846.

7/17

  • Texas reported 10,256 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. The overall statewide total was updated to include 4,660 cases reported by the San Antonio Metro Health District stemming from a laboratory reporting backlog.

7/14

  • Statewide and Bexar County totals were updated to remove 3,484 probable cases that San Antonio Metro Health District had previously included in its totals.

6/16

  • The total reported cases include 2,622 new cases and an additional 1,476 cases that were previously diagnosed among Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmates.
