The 81st Texas Legislature enacted House Bill 461, relating to the regulation of dyslexia therapists and dyslexia practitioners, and the bill was signed by Governor Rick Perry on June 21, 2009. Draft Rule Language for Public Comment
The Department of State Health Services is requesting feedback on the draft rule language that is available via the following link. The draft language will remove the abolishment date for the Dyslexia Licensing Advisory Committee. This committee will remain active. The draft language will also implement Senate Bill 162 and House Bill 2254 of the 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013, regarding the licensing of active military members, military spouses, and military veterans. The Dyslexia Therapist and Dyslexia Practitioner Licensing Program section is available starting on page 44. Comments on the draft may be submitted via email to Crystal Beard, Program Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
