    Email HIV, STD, Hepatitis C, and TB data requests to the Program – This email can be used to request data and statistics on HIV, STDs, Hepatitis C, and TB in Texas. It cannot be used to get treatment or infection history for individuals, or to request information on programs and services. Please do not include any personal, identifying health information in your email such as HIV status, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, etc.

    For treatment/testing history, please contact your local health department.

    For information on HIV testing and services available to persons living with HIV, please contact your local HIV services organization.

Training - HIV Navigation in Texas

TrainingLearning Series

Target Audience: The workforce receiving DSHS funds or resources to support HIV testing, disease intervention services, PrEP navigation and/or Ryan White care and treatment services 

*Required to complete the series:

All DSHS funded staff who provide or supervise

  • HIV testing
  • HIV navigation
  • PrEP navigation

Within first year of employment, all DSHS staff funded to provide

  • Public health follow-up services (DIS)
  • HIV care and treatment services

*If staff completed HNT in 2018-19, it is not necessary to repeat.

Goal of the Series: More Texans will be successfully linked and maintained in HIV/STD prevention, care, and treatment services, including PrEP, all of which are important elements of the plan to end the HIV epidemic


HNT Learning Series

The HNT Learning Series is a blended learning series with three components:

  1. Pre-Work (estimated time: 3.5 hours)

*The HIV workforce is required to complete all 9 courses in the Online Learning Series prior to Step 2, the Live, Online, HNT Instructor-led learning session. Completion of the nine HNT e-learning courses is not the same as completion of the HNT Learning Series. You will only receive credit for the HNT Learning Series when you complete all three components: Pre-Work; Live, Online, Instructor-led learning session; and Post-Work. Learners will not be permitted to participate in the Step 2, Live, Online, Instructor-led learning session unless Pre-Work is completed.

  1. Live, Online, Instructor-led learning session (2 hours). Please make sure you register for your desired HNT course. Once you are registered for HNT through Cardea AND you have completed the 9 prerequisites, a Zoom link will be sent to you.
    • Review your role in the Status-Neutral Continuum
    • Discuss the effects of COVID-19 on your role and brainstorm solutions
  2. Post-Work (estimated time: 1.5 hours)
    • Walkthrough of the Continuum with a hypothetical client
    • Regional Data activity examining relevant Achieving Together data

Completion of all components must be verified and placed in the learner’s personnel file.
