AIM Produced E-Modules
- Obstetric Hemorrhage: Introduction
The goal of the Introduction domain is to welcome providers to the Obstetric Hemorrhage AIM
eModules where we will review the 4 domains of the Obstetric Hemorrhage patient
safety bundle.
- Obstetric Hemorrhage: Readiness
The goal of the Readiness domain is to
outline the 5 components of Readiness to be addressed by every facility to
prevent delays and prepare for the optimal management of obstetric hemorrhage
cases.
- Obstetric Hemorrhage: Recognition
The goal of the Recognition domain is
to identify the key factors for assessment of hemorrhage risk upon admission,
describe quantitative measurement of blood loss and outline key strategies for
active management of the 3rd stage of labor.
- Obstetric Hemorrhage: Response
The goal of the Response domain is to
identify the two key interventions that should be utilized in every hemorrhage,
define a management plan for response to obstetric hemorrhage emergencies and
describe support needed for every individual involved in an obstetric
hemorrhage emergency.
- Obstetric Hemorrhage: Reporting and Systems
Learning
The goal of the Reporting and Systems
Learning domain is to describe how a culture of huddles and post event debriefs
can demonstrate successes and review how multidisciplinary quality improvement
and review of serious hemorrhages can improve outcomes.

This
web-based tutorial provides an overview of the Obstetric Hemorrhage Family of
Measures, including data definitions and an intro to the AIM National Data
Portal. This tutorial is highly recommended for your team’s Data Lead(s) and

TCHMB: Maternal Early Warning Systems-
Triggers and Notification
The webinar recording can
be found here. The
objective of the webinar will be to demonstrate the components of MEWS in
action. There will be recorded simulations from two hospitals that illustrate
the recognition of the MEWS trigger, activation, bedside evaluation,
documentation in the nurse flowsheet and physician progress note, and debrief.
