The Texas Department for State Health Services will lead the charge for a healthier Texas.
The Office of Science and Population Health was founded as part of the transformation process that restructured the Department of State Health Service with the goal of sharpening our focus on public health.
The Office of Science and Population Health works to develop and advance public health priorities for Texas. The office serves as a focal point to coordinate and provide medical and epidemiologic expertise and to identify opportunities to use Department of State Health Service’s data. Through this work, the office seeks to drive improvement in health and wellness across Texas.
Altogether, the efforts of the Office of Science and Population Health will aim to move the needle on some of the most significant public health challenges facing all living in Texas.
The department will achieve this by promoting and protecting the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work, worship, and play.
