Cancer reporting to the Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) is mandated by the Texas Cancer Incidence Reporting Act, Chapter 82, Texas Health and Safety Code. All cancer cases seen in health care facilities licensed under Chapters 241, 242 and 242, Texas Health and Safety Code, or any other facility, including an outpatient clinic, that provides diagnosis or treatment services to patients with cancer, clinical laboratories, physicians as defined by Section 151.002, Texas Occupations Code and dentists as described by Section 251.003, Texas Occupations Code, must be reported to the TCR according to the Texas Health and Safety Code Section 82.008. This includes all hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, cancer treatment centers, clinical laboratories, and in certain circumstances, dentist and physician offices. Cancer incidence information must be reported as specified by Rules in the Title 25 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 91, Subchapter A.
