2014 Vital Statistics Regional Conferences

June 4, 2014: San Angelo
June 6, 2014: Fort Worth
The Department of State Health Services—Vital Statistics Unit is conducting three Vital Statistics Regional Conferences this summer in Galveston, San Angelo, and Fort Worth. The conference is co-sponsored by the Texas Public Health Association.
The early registration fee is $110.00 and must be received on or before May 12, 2014. After May 12, 2014, the registration fee will be $130.00. Registration includes a light breakfast, lunch, and breaks. The day-long conferences will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. All fees must be paid prior to day of conference.

Who should attend?
All persons involved in the completion and registration of births, deaths, marriages, and acknowledgments of paternity in Texas. Learn about new legislation affecting vital registration in Texas. Topics include issues impacting these individuals as well as new legislation affecting vital registration in Texas and how they will affect county and district clerks, city health department staff, physicians, funeral directors, hospice facilities, hospitals, and birthing centers.
Continuing Education Units
Continuing education accreditation is being submitted to the Texas Department of State Health Services Midwifery Program, the American Health Information Management Association, the Texas Funeral Service Commission, the Texas Justice Court Training Center, and the County & District Clerk’s Association of Texas. Continuing education credits also will be awarded for certified birth registrars.
