Clinical Lactation Practicum (CLP) Registration

  • Thank you for your interest in our classes. Below is some general information regarding pre-requisites, registration fees and cancellations. Detailed instructions will be provided in the confirmation email.

    • You must attend the class in its entirety in order to get continuing education credit or a certificate of attendance for the course. You will not be awarded partial credit nor will you be allowed to make up any missed sessions.
    • Students must successfully complete Principles of Lactation Management (POLM) and Lactation Counseling and Problem Solving (LCAPS) trainings no more than 5 years prior to attending the CLP.
    • Registration fee to attend is $60 and is due prior to the class date. For non-Texas WIC registrants, the fee is due within 72 hours of receiving your confirmation notice from the State Office.  Lunch and snacks are on your own.
    • Refunds for cancellation will be made up to two (2) weeks prior to class. After that date, no refunds will be made.
    • If you fail to notify the registrar in writing of your intent to cancel at least two (2) weeks prior to the class date or you do not show up for your scheduled class, you will still be held responsible for the registration fee. No shows and last minute cancellations will forfeit the opportunity to re-register for a period of not less than one year.

    Student participation is limited to Degreed/Licensed/Board Certified Professionals such as RNs, LVNs, RDs, LDs, IBCLCs, and Nutritionists. Degrees should be in the healthcare or medical field.

    Confirmation Notices

    Confirmations are sent out via email every Friday. If you have not received a confirmation email within a week of submitting your registration, please call or e-mail Missy Hammer at 512-341-4457 to make sure your registration has been received.

    Site specific information regarding agenda, locations, arrival times, and attire will be sent by a staff member from each Lactation Support Center.
