Nationwide Recall Alert on Shell Eggs
Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa issued a voluntary recall on shell eggs from its facility on August 13th. The Department of State Health Services is working with the FDA, CDC and local partners to identify and notify retail establishments and the public about the egg recall. Texas farm produced eggs are not affected by the recall.

Vaccinate Your Children Before the First Day of School
With the first day of school just weeks away, the Texas Department of State Health Services is reminding parents to get their children vaccinated now. If a student is not vaccinated, entry into school may be delayed by school administration. Immunization requirements can be found at www.dshs.state.tx.us/immunize/school/

Budget Reductions
Texas health and human services agencies submitted their response to the January 15, 2010, request from state leadership to identify possible savings in agencies’ FY2010-2011 budgets. Leadership has made decisions on those recommendations and the agencies have now posted their approved plans.
