2003 - 2004 Texas Influenza Surveillance Information
The flu activity level for Texas, week 44, 10/26/03 to 11/1/03, is regional.
Regional means there is increased ILI in ≥2 but less than half of the regions and recent (within the past 3 weeks) lab confirmed influenza in the affected regions.
There are 11 public health regions in Texas and during week 44, influenza/ILI activity has been reported from or identified in 5 PHRs. During this reporting week, influenza A has been identified in the following counties: Bell, Bastrop, Brazos, Caldwell, Galveston, Gillespie, Gonzales, Harris, Kerr, McLennan, Travis, Wichita, and Williamson. Influenza B has been reported from Comal county. Undifferentiated flu has been reported from Goliad and Walker counties. Reports of ILI activity have been received from El Paso, Jefferson, and San Jacinto counties.
