The Medical and Research Library at the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) exists primarily to serve researchers, counselors, and medical practitioners working for or through the Texas Health and Human Services Enterprise (HHS). The library also addresses the general reference, staff development and information needs of HHS employees and assists students, other state employees and members of the public in Texas who require health-related information.
The Medical and Research Library acquires, organizes, and maintains a collection of materials, in both print and electronic formats; locates and retrieves documents; and provides assistance and training necessary to access and use information resources and services. Staff also provide current awareness services in support of the research activities of HHS employees.
The Texas Department of State Health Services Medical and Research Library's hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday except for State of Texas holidays. |
