Our purpose is to improve the health of all Texans by involving children, parents, and communities in the state by encouraging our residents to improve and maintain good oral health. The State Oral Health Group will provide statewide leadership by working through collaborative efforts with assorted partners across the state and nation. The State and Regional Oral Health Groups will work to provide and support the state in oral health policy development, identification of oral health needs and resources to meet these needs, preventive care and referral to oral health care services outside the scope of those provided by the Department of State Health Services. We are ever vigilant in our efforts to improve the quality and effectiveness of our program through on-going assessment and evaluation of the resources allocated by the state to meet those needs.
Our vision is one of a Health Texas where each child, parent, and community can enjoy a happier, healthier life benefiting from the beginning with good oral health.
